I just want walls and walls of books, book I have read, books I want to read, just books, always books.
More you might like
so many books to read

BOOOOKS in general I say
You are my people.
- me: I want to read that.
- me: No, I want to read that!
- me: Oh wait that looks good too!
- me: I without a doubt need to read this one right now.
- me: But wait, what about this one!?!
- me: ::grabs all the books and starts crying::
I just want to go to cute coffee shops and read books
i dont have time for a relationship; do you know how many books i need to read
Read books. Care about things. Get excited. Try not to be too down on yourself. Enjoy the ever-present game of knowing.
it’s okay to read only YA. it’s okay to not read YA at all. it’s okay to read only fanfiction. if you are reading, you are doing it correctly. stop belittling others for enjoying what they read
Read what you enjoy its a no brainer. However, hear me out for a second okay?
Personally, I’ve been reading YA fiction for ages and although I love it tremendously there is a voice at the back of my mind saying “you are only getting some perspective, as in a single or maybe a small amount of the narrative of young adult lives.” Okay, that was confusing for me also so let me further explain without looking like an idiot. As readers we are some what concerned about the world, about relationships, about emotional turmoil each individual faces, and most importantly perspectives. And yes a book about dragons, or half breeds (angels etc), children murdering each other, assassins, is not typically an accurate picture of the world but underneath there is meaning. Meanings describing social issues, gender issues, political ideologies, bits and pieces of the fractured world we live in. But we read fiction (which I love to reiterate) and once we are done tell are selves it is fiction, it’s not real, the world is not that bad. The world is that I can reassure you.
Finally, the point.
Read books about the world, the real world. Familiarize yourselves with different narratives. Diversify your perspective on humanity. If you see a news caption labeling a marginalized group, read about their lives from THEIR perspective. Become a socially active reader. It is your responsibility as a human being to educate your ignorance, your blindspots.
(Especially because the education system treats the ignorance in students about diverse perspectives in literature [or anything really] incredibly poorly)
Read what you enjoy but do not “only” read what you enjoy. Get it?
I don’t even know what to say about this
You don’t even have to say anything. It’s perfect. We must read to educate ourselves, to become better people, to understand not only who we are, but those around us and the world we live in. If we read only what pleases us, then we will never learn, but if we go beyond what we know, extend beyond our comfort levels, there we will discover the world over and over again as we progress through the things we read. If we stick only to what we know, or like, or enjoy, then we can never gain an appreciation for the unique, or the different, or the strange. We learn through reading, through the exploration of new topics, and through going beyond what we ourselves know and love.
Yeah but I can do that without reading books?? Like if all I want to read is gay smut but I read a bunch of articles and teach myself shit, I don’t need you guilt tripping me into reading other shit??
If you marry me, you also marry my bookshelves.
Just kidding, don’t touch my books.
